About Sean Clapis

Sean Clapis is an artistic journeyman. Sharing the stage with American jazz masters like Steve Davis, Warren Wolf, Gene Jackson or European all-stars like Cyrille Aimee, Antonio Serrano or Melendi have made him one of the most eclectic and versatile guitarists working on the jazz scene today. With a fluid yet hard hitting style grounded in the tradition of American jazz, Sean has cultivated a name as a guitar warrior, touring and performing with an array of bands across many styles in many countries. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, where he fell in love with guitar and studied under Jackie McLean, Sean later moved to Brooklyn, New York where he forged his signature style on hundreds of bandstands, dance-floors, theaters and in restaurants, bars and living rooms. Having appeared in venues all over the world, he currently lives in Madrid and regularly performs, records and teaches.

His latest album “Paths Unfold in the Dark" marks his sixth outing as a leader and is his first on the Inner Circle label.
